After losing to Holly Springs the last time they met, Middle Creek decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Middle Creek's pitchers stepped up to hand Holly Springs a 4-0 shutout on Friday. The game was the first time the Mustangs have beaten the Golden Hawks on their field since March 14, 2022.

Middle Creek's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Austin Weber, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Middle Creek's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Holly Springs, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-4 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middle Creek will head out to face off against Cary at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Middle Creek is facing Cary at the right time seeing as Cary is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Holly Springs, they are taking a road trip to take on Green Level at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
