Clinton-Massie is 6-0 against New Richmond since October of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Clinton-Massie Falcons will be playing at home against the New Richmond Lions at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Clinton-Massie has nine straight wins, New Richmond has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Clinton-Massie got themselves on the board against Batavia, but Batavia never followed suit. They blew past the Bulldogs, posting a 48-0 win on the road. The result was nothing new for Clinton-Massie, who have now won five contests by 30 points or more so far this season.
Clinton-Massie found their leader in underclassman Peyton Warren, who rushed for 182 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Warren's longest rush was for an incredible 77 yards. Eli Muterspaw was another key contributor, rushing for 66 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Meanwhile, New Richmond was beaten by Wilmington 50-15 on Friday. New Richmond was down 36-7 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Clinton-Massie's victory was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 9-0. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 7-2 Wilmington and 7-2 Mt. Healthy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 59.9% over those games). As for New Richmond, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as the two teams haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Clinton-Massie commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 4.7 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like New Richmond struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.6 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
