The Wright City Wildcats lost against the North Callaway Thunderbirds back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Wright City had to suffer through a rough 71-27 loss at the hands of North Callaway. While losing is never fun, Wright City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while North Callaway is ranked 134th).
Riley Blevins was her usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-9 from downtown and almost dropping a double-double on 27 points and nine rebounds for North Callaway. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Blevins has scored all season. Lakyn Hartley was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Wright City has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for North Callaway, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-7.
Wright City will look to defend their home court on Monday against Van-Far at 5:30 p.m. As for North Callaway, they will square off against South Harrison at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
