The Benjamin Russell Wildcats pushed their score all the way to 60 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-60 to Auburn. Benjamin Russell lost against Auburn in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 75-61 score last time.
Leading Auburn to victory were Antwane Daniels and Tabari Allen. Daniels scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds, while Allen scored 18 points along with 9 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Franklin, who scored 7 points along with 6 assists and 5 rebounds.
Benjamin Russell's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Auburn, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Benjamin Russell will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Marbury at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. As for Auburn, they will take on Fairfield at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Fairfield's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
