The Lakes Eagles will face off against the Johnsburg Skyhawks at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Johnsburg will be up against a hot Lakes squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand Round Lake a 16-0 shutout on Thursday. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Eagles this season.
Rae Carraro made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Carraro was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Eryn Oleson was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. McKenna Gray was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.
Lakes kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Round Lake didn't got any hits.
Meanwhile, Johnsburg can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 21-7 margin over Plano. The Skyhawks not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 5th (when they won 21-1).
Carlie Majercik was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kimmy Whitlock, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Lakes now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Johnsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 8-14.
Johnsburg's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lakes has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .433. It's a different story for Johnsburg, though, as they've only averaged .303. Will they be able to contain Lakes' hitters?
Everything went Lakes' way against Johnsburg in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, as Lakes made off with a 12-3 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Skyhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
