This season hasn't been kind to the Sharpstown Apollos, who are still winless after their eighth match. They fell 32-20 to Milby on Saturday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sharpstown in their matchups with Milby: they've now lost five in a row.
Milby found their leader in underclassman Ke'lia Smith, who dropped a double-double on ten rebounds and ten steals. Those ten steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Gyanna Guerra, who scored eight points.
Sharpstown bumped their record down to 0-8 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Milby, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
Sharpstown will head out on the road to face off against Waltrip at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Waltrip comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Milby will be home for the holidays to greet Austin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
