The Millard West Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Marian Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Millard West sitting on seven straight victories and Marian on three.
In what's become a running theme this season, Millard West gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 62-33 victory over Westview at home. Given Millard West's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while Westview is ranked 137th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Millard West got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kylee Paben out in front who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Taylor Hansen, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Marian stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Lincoln 61-34 at home.
Millard West pushed their record up to 19-1 with that win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Marian, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.
Millard West strolled past Marian in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 56-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Millard West since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
