The Snow Hill Eagles waltzed into their game on Friday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They came out on top against Pocomoke by a score of 77-68. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the defeat, Pocomoke had strong showings from Jamir Roberts, who scored 24 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds, and Michael Ames, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Ames also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Malachi Bonneville, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
Snow Hill pushed their record up to 8-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Pocomoke, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Snow Hill on the road again on Tuesday and play against Crisfield on January 16th. Crisfield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Snow Hill is ranked 71st). As for Pocomoke, they will head out on the road to take on Parkside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
