Baseball Recap: Cooper Wins Going Away Against Campbell

Cooper won the last time they faced Campbell and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 13-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Jaret Slakey made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Brayden Williams was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. John Ramos was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Cooper always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Campbell only posted an OBP of .286.

Cooper is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Campbell, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15-2.

Cooper will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Indians: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
