Perquimans has won six straight games at home (dating back to last season), while J.H. Rose has won six straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Perquimans Pirates will host the J.H. Rose Rampants at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Perquimans barely beat Northside - Pinetown the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Perquimans was the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over Northside - Pinetown on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.

Evan Conway was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Will Rucker was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jacob Askew was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Perquimans always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, J.H. Rose made easy work of West Carteret on Wednesday and carried off an 11-1 victory.
Caleb Grandy tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
On the hitting side, J.H. Rose let Ahmad Abulatifa and Joyner Haddock run wild. Abulatifa went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Haddock went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That triple was Abulatifa's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Parker Watson, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Perquimans' win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for J.H. Rose, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Perquimans has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .479. However, it's not like J.H. Rose struggles in that department as they've averaged .471. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Perquimans might still be hurting after the 19-9 defeat they got from J.H. Rose in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Will Perquimans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
