The third road match was the charm for the Lancaster Mennonite Blazers, as they earned their first road win of the season. They put the hurt on Mount Calvary Christian with a sharp 63-41 victory on Friday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-17.
Mount Calvary Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avery Kopcha, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds. Kopcha scored a full 29.3% of Mount Calvary Christian's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Josiah Masters was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
The victory got Lancaster Mennonite back to even at 2-2. As for Mount Calvary Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.
Lancaster Mennonite will be playing at home against Haverford at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Mount Calvary Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Covenant Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Covenant Christian Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
