Two dominant guards in Braydon Jacob and Cohen Edmondson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Lutheran Lions will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Lewis-Palmer Rangers at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lutheran comes in on 12 and Lewis-Palmer on four.
Last Friday, Lutheran didn't have too much trouble with Discovery Canyon on the road as they won 62-43. Given Lutheran's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Discovery Canyon is ranked 77th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, even though Palmer Ridge scored an imposing 58 points on Friday, Lewis-Palmer still came out on top. Lewis-Palmer walked away with a 65-58 victory over Palmer Ridge.
Lewis-Palmer had a senior duo take command as Edmondson scored 22 points and Damarion Jelks scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jelks has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Johnson, who scored nine points.
Lutheran's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. As for Lewis-Palmer, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Lutheran was able to grind out a solid victory over Lewis-Palmer in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 66-55. Will Lutheran repeat their success, or does Lewis-Palmer have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
