After a string of three wins, the Keyport Raiders's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were beaten by Shore Regional 58-21. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Keyport has suffered yet this season.
Kimi Sayson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Shore Regional, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sayson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Conley Smolokoff, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Keyport's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Shore Regional, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Keyport won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Matawan Regional at 5:15 p.m. on January 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Matawan Regional is ranked 295th, while Keyport is ranked 285th). Shore Regional will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Washington Township at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th.
