Softball Recap: Badin Has No Trouble Against Middletown

Badin never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Middletown Middies as they made off with an 11-0 victory. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by ten runs or more this season.

Kendall P. made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other pitching news, Tristin Lewis looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Judy Harris, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mattie Canupp, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Badin is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Middletown, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Badin will venture away from home to square off against Chaminade Julienne Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Middletown, they will host Princeton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Middies are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
