It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Saint James Trojans can now relate to. They took a serious blow against the Eagles on Monday, falling 69-40. While losing is never fun, Saint James can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 403rd, while Montgomery Academy is ranked 114th).
Brewer Welch was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 6 assists for Montgomery Academy. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Welch has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Skyler Stovall, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Saint James are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15. As for Montgomery Academy, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-7.
