Port of Los Angeles is a perfect 10-0 against King/Drew since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Polar Bears will take on the Golden Eagles at 3:00 p.m. Port of Los Angeles is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.
King/Drew's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Thursday: Port of Los Angeles hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. The Polar Bears' pitchers stepped up to hand Dorsey a 20-0 shutout on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Polar Bears, who have now won nine matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

Alyssa Setka and Nevaeh Randall made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Setka struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Randall pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Setka went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Randall went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, eight RBI, and two runs. Those eight RBI gave Randall a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Briana Aleman, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Cordova, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Port of Los Angeles always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .793. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .714 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, King/Drew had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Everything went their way against the Pathfinders as they made off with a 9-0 victory.
Like Port of Los Angeles, King/Drew also got a great game from a two-way player: Jordan Garcia. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Garcia has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Arianna Lawrence was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
Port of Los Angeles' win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for King/Drew, their record now sits at 8-13.
King/Drew's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Port of Los Angeles hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .466. It's a different story for King/Drew, though, as they've only averaged .242. Will they be able to contain Port of Los Angeles' hitters?
Port of Los Angeles was able to grind out a solid win over King/Drew when the teams last played back in April, winning 5-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Polar Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
