The Butler Bulldogs won the last time they faced the Garinger Wildcats, and things went their way on Friday too. Butler breezed by Garinger on the road to the tune of 88-50. Given Butler's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 285th, while Garinger is ranked 573rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tyler Showalter continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. The match was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. Tofiq Azar was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Butler's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Garinger, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Butler will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Providence at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. As for Garinger, they will take on East Mecklenburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully East Mecklenburg focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
