Basketball Recap: Spring Valley Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Spring Valley won the last time they faced Canyon Springs, and Kevan Wilkins did his part to make sure it happened again. The Spring Valley Grizzlies narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Canyon Springs Pioneers 65-63 thanks in part to Wilkins, who posted 24 points along with six steals and five boards. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points.

Angelo Imperial was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to seven assists and four steals. He has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times he's played.

Despite the loss, Canyon Springs still got an impressive performance from Gregory Paige, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Paige a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of DeAndra' Cobb, who scored ten points and four steals.

Spring Valley has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Canyon Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Spring Valley has already played their next match, a 90-50 loss against Liberty on the 15th. As for Canyon Springs, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 84-56 win against Pinecrest Academy Cadence on the 14th.
