The Clearwater Valley Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Lapwai, falling 89-37. Clearwater Valley lost against Lapwai in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 89-40 score last time.
Kase Wynott had a dynamite game for Lapwai, shooting 4-for-8 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 43 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wynott has scored at least 25% of Lapwai's points. Ahlius Yearout was another key contributor, scoring 25 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Clearwater Valley's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3. As for Lapwai, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with that victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Clearwater Valley will be home for the holidays to greet Troy at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lapwai, they will face off against The Ambrose School at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in The Ambrose School's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
