Pitman is 2-8 against Downey since August of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Pride will welcome the Knights at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Pitman took a loss when they played away from home back in September, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They took down Modesto 29-12. The Pride haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Rj Wilharm looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 190 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (153.3).
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Downey). They claimed a resounding 45-8 victory over Gregori. With the Knights ahead 31-8 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Pitman better keep an eye on Elias Haynes. He was instrumental in Downey's win, rushing for 101 yards and two scores on only 12 carries, while also picking up 48 receiving yards. Haynes' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 101 rushing yards. Another signal caller making a difference was Julian Masaniai, who threw for 146 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 80% of his passes.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Downey proved: they limited Gregori to a paltry 0.8 yards per carry. While two picked up at least six total tackles, Haynes stood above the rest. He rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also picked up 48 receiving yards. Downey didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 9.7.
Downey's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for 5.5 sacks. Gregori's QB won't forget John Hinchey anytime soon given he sacked him three times. With that strong performance, Hinchey is now averaging an impressive 5.5 total tackles per game. Downey got some further help from Antwain Harper: he made nine total tackles (1.0 for loss).
Pitman's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Downey, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Pitman took a serious blow against Downey when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 56-3. Thankfully for the Pride, Carson Lamb (who threw for 226 yards and four TDs) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
