The Le Roy Oatkan Knights were the 78-73 winner over the York Golden Knights when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Le Roy lost to York at home by a decisive 67-53 margin on Friday. Le Roy has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Several Oatkan Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Merritt Holly Jr., who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jean Agosto, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Le Roy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-5 record this season. As for York, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Le Roy will challenge Pavilion at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Pavilion will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Le Roy surely won't give up without a fight. As for York, they will head out on the road to challenge Hornell at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hornell knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully York likes a good challenge.
