The Birmingham Patriots had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 71-35 win over Taft at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 50-16.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Birmingham to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alex Dupre, who scored 12 points along with nine assists and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Andre Smith, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Birmingham is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season. As for Taft, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Birmingham's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Cleveland has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 562 points over their last eight games. As for Taft, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Chatsworth at 7:00 p.m. Chatsworth is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 67.3 points per game.
