Everything went their way against Sarasota Military Academy as Sarasota Christian made off with an 11-1 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Blazers considering their two-run performance the game before.
James White made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. White was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.
In other batting news, Sarasota Christian let Evan Poznanski and Justin Brock run wild. Poznanski scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3, while Brock scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs Brock has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Randall Collins, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Sarasota Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sarasota Military Academy only posted an OBP of .261.
Meanwhile, Keswick Christian fell victim to Largo and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 10-0 to the Packers. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Crusaders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
With the loss, Keswick Christian broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-3. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 11 hits in those games compared to only 4.67 in the others. As for Sarasota Christian, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Sarasota Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Keswick Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Sarasota Christian might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Keswick Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2023.
