Carey and Mohawk are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Carey Blue Devils will be playing at home against the Mohawk Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Carey had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came out on top against Upper Sandusky by a score of 53-46.
Meanwhile, Mohawk put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Sunday. They put the hurt on Fort Loramie with a sharp 45-21 win. Given Mohawk's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while Fort Loramie is ranked 671st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carey is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Mohawk, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
Carey was able to grind out a solid victory over Mohawk in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 46-34. Does Carey have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mohawk turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
