The Tokay Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Stagg Delta Kings at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tokay will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Tokay's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Franklin with a sharp 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Sophia Galletti 2027 made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Galletti 2027 was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February of 2024.
In other batting news, Tokay let Savannah Rawlings 2026 and Anabelle Sikich 2026 run wild. Rawlings 2026 went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double, while Sikich 2026 went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two hits gave Rawlings 2026 a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cloe Alves 2026, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Stagg was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They lost 7-0 to Bear Creek. That makes it the first time this season the Delta Kings have let down their home crowd.
Aerie Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
Tokay pushed their record up to 12-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Stagg, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.
Everything went Tokay's way against Stagg when the teams last played last Tuesday, as Tokay made off with a 7-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
