The Higbee Tigers will be taking part in a tournament against the Meadville Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meadville took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Higbee, who comes in off a win.
Higbee took care of business in their home opener last Thursday (and then some). They took their contest with ease, bagging a 76-44 victory over Southwest.
Meanwhile, Meadville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 79-73 to Hale. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Meadville had strong showings from Mason Dennis, who went 9 for 17 en route to 22 points plus seven assists, and Donivan Schreckhise, who went 8 for 12 en route to 20 points plus five rebounds. What's more, Schreckhise also posted a 67% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2023. Reece Meyers was another key player, scoring seven points plus seven assists.
Higbee didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Meadville in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 44-40 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Meadville's Gauge Shiflett, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be easier for Higbee to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
