The St. John's Islanders will challenge the Charleston Math & Science Riptide at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Tuesday, St. John's made easy work of Baptist Hill and carried off a 19-1 win. The Islanders have beaten the Bobcats the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bobcats has come to flipping the script.
Kennedy Moore was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Moore was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, St. John's got a massive performance out of Bethani Martinez, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Brynlee Williams was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Charleston Math & Science got themselves on the board against North Charleston on Tuesday, but North Charleston never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Cougars.
Like St. John's, Charleston Math & Science also got a great game from a two-way player: Audriana Frasier. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Frasier has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Dazaria Frost was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. St. John's has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Charleston Math & Science struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
St. John's might still be hurting after the 12-1 defeat they got from Charleston Math & Science when the teams last played on April 2nd. Will the Islanders have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
