If the Hobgood Charter Raiders were riding high off their 69-31 takedown of the Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech Griffins last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Hobgood Charter took a serious blow against Lawrence Academy on Tuesday, falling 82-49. Hobgood Charter was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-20.
Despite the loss, Hobgood Charter saw an underclassman step up: Khrie Rascoe scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Roberson , who scored 13 points.
Lawrence Academy was led to victory by Nike Wiggins and Mari Larry. Wiggins scored 19 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals, while Larry dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Luke Foster, who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds.
Hobgood Charter's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Lawrence Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Hobgood Charter will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Northeast Academy at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Northeast Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Friday. As for Lawrence Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Crossroads Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crossroads Christian will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
