Baseball Recap: Pius XI Catholic Takes Down St. John's Northwestern Military Academy in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Pius XI Catholic had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the St. John's Northwestern Military Academy Lancers by a score of 6-2 on Thursday. The win was nothing new for the Popes as they're now sitting on three straight.

The team relied heavily on Owen Hickethier, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Morgan Gillitzer was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Pius XI Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 6-15. As for St. John's Northwestern Military Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.
