The Brownsboro Bears will face off against the Mabank Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Brownsboro turned things around against Kemp on Monday. They blew past the Yellowjackets 13-3.
Cheyenne Cowart made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Cowart was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Lilly Haldeman was a standout: she scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emma Cutright, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Brownsboro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mabank, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Athens on Tuesday, sneaking past 13-11. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Panthers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Emmy Barnes was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Barnes was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Mabank let Savannah Phillips and Erin Ottmo run wild. Phillips scored two runs while going 2-for-5, while Ottmo scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Angela Fernandez was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Brownsboro picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 7-10-2. As for Mabank, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 7-13.
Everything went Brownsboro's way against Mabank in their previous meeting back in March, as Brownsboro made off with an 18-7 win. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
