Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Harlandale Indians, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They lost to Liberty Hill on the road by a decisive 43-26 margin on Friday. Harlandale was down 43-13 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Harlandale's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Palomino, who picked up 92 receiving yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Jacob Saucedo, who threw for 211 yards and two touchdowns.
Among those leading the charge was Ben Carter, who rushed for 152 yards and three touchdowns. Liberty Hill also got a significant boost from Dj Seaborn, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 91 yards.
Harlandale's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Liberty Hill, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Harlandale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Liberty Hill will face off against Pioneer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pioneer knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten contests -- so hopefully Liberty Hill likes a good challenge.
