The Athens Hornets typically have all the answers at home, but on Thursday the Denton Broncos proved too difficult a challenge. Denton was the clear victor by a 59-34 margin over Athens.
Leading Denton to victory were Ethan Sheats and Chase Thomas. Sheats dropped a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds, while Thomas scored 20 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds. Thomas has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Torres, who scored 5 points.
Denton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. As for Athens, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-3.
