Softball Recap: Buckeye Wins Going Away Against North Canyon

Buckeye never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against the North Canyon Rattlers as they made off with a 14-0 victory. Considering the Hawks have won 13 matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Buckeye got a massive performance out of Caleila Kaluna, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Kaluna continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Jazlene Barrios also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Buckeye always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Canyon only posted an OBP of .000.

The win made it two in a row for Buckeye and bumps their season record up to 13-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for North Canyon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Buckeye will take on Canyon View at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Canyon, they will square off against Ironwood at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
