Christian Fellowship has enjoyed a seven-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Lighthouse Prep Academy Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Christian Fellowship has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 346 points over their last five matches.
Christian Fellowship stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Columbia Independent with a sharp 59-39 win. Given Christian Fellowship's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while Columbia Independent is ranked 492nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Christian Fellowship's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Luke Davis, who scored 20 points along with six steals, and Abe Seboldt, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Davis hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Brendan Royer, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lighthouse Prep Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight defeat. They fell 55-42 to Heartland Christian Academy. Lighthouse Prep Academy has not had much luck with Heartland Christian Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite their loss, Lighthouse Prep Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Alajun Proctor, who scored 12 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Taggart, who scored nine points.
Christian Fellowship pushed their record up to 16-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.2 points per game. As for Lighthouse Prep Academy, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
Keep an eye on the arc in Thursday's game: Christian Fellowship have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 42.9% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Lighthouse Prep Academy, though, as they've only made 18.2% of their threes this season. Given Christian Fellowship's sizable advantage in that area, Lighthouse Prep Academy will need to find a way to close that gap.
Everything came up roses for Christian Fellowship against Lighthouse Prep Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 as the squad secured a 98-30 victory. With Christian Fellowship ahead 55-13 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
