Basketball Recap: Idalia Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Brady Terrell and Broderick Kite

If Idalia was riding high fresh off their 55-12 takedown of Hi-Plains last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Idalia Wolves fell 54-41 to the Otis Bulldogs on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 94th).

Idalia's loss came despite strong showings from Broderick Kite and Brady Terrell. Kite went 5 for 11 en route to 13 points and four steals, while Terrell posted ten points and six steals. Those six steals gave Terrell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kolby Morris, who had seven points and seven assists.

It was another big night for Charlie Kendrick, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 23 points for Otis. Kendrick's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Grady Bechtle was another key player, putting up six points in addition to 14 boards and five steals.

Idalia now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Otis, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.

Idalia will take on Lone Star at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Otis has already played their next contest (against Cheyenne Wells), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
