The biggest upset of the week belonged to Portage, who defeated 216th ranked North Star, 41-0. Michael Bryja threw for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns during the win.
The Mustangs' Luke Dividock rumbled for the longest rushing play in Western Pennsylvania [WPAC] this season in his game against the Cougars last week. Dividock ran for 73 yards on the play and finished with 121 on the day as his team beat North Star.
Bryja put up the best numbers through the air as Gary Gouse's team defeated Stacy Schmitt's team.
Braden Fochtman provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Berlin Brothersvalley bested Conemaugh Township. Fochtman's key target this week was Nick Stockwell, who caught 2 passes for 67 yards.
Stockwell was the best wideout in the league this week as the Mountaineers defeated the Indians. Tyler DeArmitt helped Berlin Brothersvalley's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 24 yards.
Fochtman was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 154 yards on 14 carries as Berlin Brothersvalley defeated Conemaugh Township. Teammate Bryce Fochtman added to the ground attack by rushing for 32 yards.
Windber's 5-foot-10 quarterback Devon Tomlinson is the league leader in passing yards this season with 105. The leading receiver in the league this season is Stockwell. The Berlin Brothersvalley star has 2 catches for 67 yards.
An important game coming up this Western Pennsylvania [WPAC] this week will be when Meyersdale takes on the Ramblers. As it stands, the Red Raiders are in third, while Windber is in first.
The league will see a high scoring game when Doug Paul's team and the Mustangs face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Mountaineers comes in having scored 35 this season, while Portage has scored 35. Berlin Brothersvalley scored 35 points last week as it topped Sam Zambanini's team.
The Mustangs scaled the state rankings by moving to 227 from 292 this week, the biggest jump in the league. Portage was able to make move up by topping the Cougars 41-0.
