The Hilliard Red Flashes''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell to Impact Christian Academy 28-22. Despite 175 more yards than Impact Christian Academy, Hilliard couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Despite the loss, Hilliard still got an impressive performance from Braydon Holley, who rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry.
Impact Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laquin Buckman, who rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliyjah Caldwell, who picked up 211 receiving yards.
Hilliard has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Impact Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
Hilliard will head out on the road to face off against Union County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Union County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hilliard in Florida (Union County is ranked 210th, while Hilliard is ranked 438th). Impact Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
