The Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers will venture away from home to take on the California Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Chartiers-Houston will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Bethlehem Center on Friday. The Buccaneers came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 10-6. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Buccaneers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Chartiers-Houston let J J Livingston and Justus Buckingham run wild. Livingston went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles, while Buckingham went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. Those three hits gave Buckingham a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Gotfredson, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Chartiers-Houston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They are 4-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for California, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over Brownsville on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Trojans as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Chase Shemansky looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. California is 2-0-1 when Shemansky allows one or fewer hits, but 4-9-1 otherwise.
On the hitting side, California's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Weston, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Colton Lowden also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
The victory got Chartiers-Houston back to even at 7-7. As for California, their record now sits at 6-9-2.
California's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Chartiers-Houston hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .353. It's a different story for California, though, as they've only averaged .255. Will they be able to contain Chartiers-Houston's hitters?
Everything went Chartiers-Houston's way against California when the teams last played back in April of 2018, as Chartiers-Houston made off with a 14-5 win. Will the Buccaneers repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
