After a string of three wins, the Blake Yellow Jackets's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They received a tough blow as they fell 70-52 to Leto. Blake was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Leto apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Blake still got an impressive performance from Joe Philon, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds. Philon has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kentrell Martin, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Blake's defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 15-3. As for Leto, they pushed their record up to 15-5 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Blake will take on Brandon at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Brandon is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Leto, they will square off against Sarasota at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Sarasota is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
