Crescent Valley scored a shocking upset when it eliminated Dallas, 14-6. At the time, the Dragons were ranked 17th in the state, while the Raiders were 26th.
Fans got a thrill when Tyler Kelsch and Gabe Kerlegan connected against Corvallis. The longest such play in 5A Mid-Willamette this season, the connection resulted in 94 yards.
South Albany's dynamic duo of Kelsch and Kerlegan proved tough for the Spartans to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Kelsch threw for 227 yards and Kerlegan had 135 yards receiving.
6-foot-5 quarterback Tanner Sanders of Crescent Valley is the league leader in passing yards this season with 993. He has also thrown 6 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Logan Munson. The Silverton star has 19 catches for 299 yards.
The Rebels are in fifth place, while West Albany is in first place.
Scott Sanders' team was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating Dallas. The Raiders came in at 17 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.
