The Cypress Lake Panthers's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Mariner Tritons at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th.
Last Friday, Cypress Lake was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 46-42 to the Bulldogs. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cypress Lake in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite their defeat, Cypress Lake saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Moriah Anderson, who scored nine points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Bri Madore, who scored nine points.
Mariner can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game last Thursday. They blew past Oasis 55-12 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Mariner has managed all season.
Cypress Lake has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-8 record this season. As for Mariner, their win ended a eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-11.
Cypress Lake suffered a grim 48-26 defeat to the Tritons in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Cypress Lake avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
