It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Braden River had no problem doing just that on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Mariner Tritons as they made off with a 7-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Pirates sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Nick Curbelo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Curbelo was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brayden Sands, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.
