The Arvada West Wildcats entered their tilt with the Chatfield Chargers with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Arvada West took down Chatfield 71-56 on Wednesday. Given Arvada West's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Chatfield is ranked 221st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Arvada West was led to victory by James Hadzic and Keegen Balistreri. Hadzic scored 13 points along with eight rebounds, while Balistreri scored 16 points. The contest was Hadzic's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Stremel, who scored ten points.
Arvada West has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Chatfield, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arvada West will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Ralston Valley at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Ralston Valley will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. As for Chatfield, they will head out on the road to face off against Lakewood at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
