The Sullivan Golden Arrows had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They took down West Vigo 43-28. Given Sullivan's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while West Vigo is ranked 287th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sullivan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carson Granby led the charge by scoring ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Javyn Woodard, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Sullivan is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for West Vigo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sullivan won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Vincennes Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. As for West Vigo, they will head out on the road to take on South Vermillion at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
