The Fordland Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the School of the Ozarks Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
Last Friday, Fordland had to suffer through a rough 85-26 loss at the hands of Hartville. While losing is never fun, Fordland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while Hartville is ranked sixth).
Meanwhile, School of the Ozarks really took it to Bradleyville for the full four quarters, racking up a 75-32 victory on the road. That 75-32 margin sets a new team best for School of the Ozarks this season.
School of the Ozarks relied on the efforts of Caleb Widner, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, and Josiah Martin, who scored 15 points along with four steals. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Shadrach Thompson, who scored 13 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Fordland and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for School of the Ozarks, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Fordland came up short against School of the Ozarks in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 55-48. Thankfully for Fordland, Nehemiah Thompson (who scored 17 points along with seven steals and five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
