The Shorecrest Scots will square off against the Everett Seagulls at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Shorecrest will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Shorecrest had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Marysville-Pilchuck on Tuesday. The Scots' pitchers stepped up to hand the Tomahawks a 10-0 shutout. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Scots this season.
Kaden Hamshaw made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Shorecrest got a massive performance out of Brooks Murray, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Murray has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Gabe King, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.
Shorecrest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Everett ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Cascade 2-1. The win was familiar territory for the Seagulls, who have now won five contests in a row.
Mac Larsen was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Franklin, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Everett's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Shorecrest, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
Shorecrest's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's game. The Scots have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Everett, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Shorecrest continue to outrun the ball?
