Jarrett was even better at the plate, firing off three runs, three doubles, and one triple while going 4-for-5. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mallory Short, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aria Graves, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.
Speedway kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Indianapolis Lutheran had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They never let the Raiders get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory. With that win, the Saints brought their scoring average up to 7.3 runs per game.
Lilly Schultz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Shae Olson was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Avery Langston, who went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Indianapolis Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Speedway, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Speedway hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. However, it's not like Indianapolis Lutheran struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
