The Reserve Mountaineers kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 69-19 loss at the hands of Legacy Academy. Reserve lost against Legacy Academy in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 57-25 score last time.
Legacy Academy can attribute much of their success to Bryant Scales , who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 10 rebounds. Robie Turrieta was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 7 steals.
Reserve's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Legacy Academy, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Reserve will take on To'hajiilee at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Legacy Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Navajo Pine at 4:00 p.m. on December 1st.
