Softball Recap: Mckinley Wins Going Away Against Memorial

McKinley was forced to take a big defeat against they on Monday, they got the better of them on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over the Memorial Red Devils. That looming 13-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Trojans yet this season.

Allison Hoschar made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Raegan Wynn, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Davianna Bowyer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

McKinley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

McKinley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Memorial, they will square off against Harding at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
