Mississinawa Valley has struggled against Ansonia recently, as their game on Saturday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Mississinawa Valley saw an underclassman step up: Cing Scott scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Scott also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Bryson Gower, who scored 13 points.
Mississinawa Valley's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Ansonia, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mississinawa Valley will challenge Bradford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ansonia, they will head out on the road to face off against Minster at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Minster presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ansonia in Ohio (Minster is ranked 269th, while Ansonia is ranked 718th).
